In order to satisfy the requirements in the project logistics sector, JTC has strengthened its existing Truck fleet by adding 25 units of Mercedes Truck heads to its existing fleet.

In order to meet the demand on construction projects, JTC adds the following Crawler cranes to its existing Crane fleet:

* Hitachi CX – 2800-2 Crawler Crane – 270t capacity – 2 Nos.
* Hitachi Sumitomo SCX – 1500A-3 Crawler Crane – 150t capacity – 1 No.

JTC has recently been awarded a two-year contract by EQUATE Petrochemical Company to provide haulage and transportation services for their Shuaiba Port operations. JTC has previously successfully held this contract for a four-year period, starting from January 2010.

Considered one of the world’s leading companies in producing Polyethylene and Ethylene Glycol, EQUATE was established in 1995 and it is presently a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), The Dow Chemical Company (Dow), Boubyan Petrochemical Company (BPC) and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC). It commenced production in 1997 and currently provides markets in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe with high quality petrochemical products.

JTC owns and operates a modern fleet of trucks and trailers to provide flexible transportation solutions. JTC currently operates a fleet of trucks in excess of 250 units, engaging in transportation services.

JTC, a diversified business entity with interests in Ports, Contract Logistics, Equipment Leasing and Power Rental, has entered into an agreement with Chicago Maintenance & Construction Co. W.L.L to install and maintain a 4MW power project at a major construction site in Qatar.

The agreement marks a strategic expansion for JTC Power Rental outside Kuwait, its base market. Over the years, JTC has established itself as a market leader in the temporary power solutions industry in Kuwait, based on its strong focus on customer satisfaction, driven by “zero interruption” power supply and high quality service. JTC, today is the preferred supplier of power rental solutions for clients seeking high availability power supply and premium quality service in the region, which faces acute power shortages, especially during summer months.

JTC will manage the entire power project at the construction site, from design and load calculations to installation and commissioning, regular operations, and maintenance. The installation will power the entire site, spread over an area of 43,100 sq m, with JTC’s premium power rental service ensuring smooth and uninterrupted supply of power round the clock.

JTC recently held a Staff Day event, at the Sea Shell Resort – Julaia, for its Divisional and Support staff, with more than 150 employees attending the day-long event. The event was also attended by the Senior Management of JTC across all Divisions including Support departments.

Apart from being a great opportunity for JTC’s employees to meet & socialize with each other outside the work atmosphere, the highlight of the event was the distribution of various awards by Mr. Adel Kohari – Group General Manager, in the form of Certificates of Excellence, Gift vouchers and Commemorative Plaques to various employees in recognition for their outstanding achievements. Awards included Best Division, Best Support Division, Best Employee Performance in each Division and Support Department and finally Special Awards given to long serving employees.

The event also featured a combination of sporting competitions and games, to encourage team building and strengthen relationship among its employees.

JTC in Kuwait transported emergency power equipment under emergency conditions and extreme heat to avert a power outage in Kuwait City.

The equipment arrived by air on 14 cargo planes over a 10 day period. JTC loaded the equipment in Kuwait City on a variety of heavy haul vehicles, including a Scheuerle Intercombi, for transport to the power plant in Subiyah. The heaviest piece of equipment weighed around 110 tonnes, Scheuerle said in a statement.

Several days later, JTC used an Intercombi to transport tanks and reactor components to a refinery construction site in Shuiaba. The pieces weighed between 67 and 82 tonnes. Using two 10-axle lines, the Intercombi’s 60-degree steering angle allowed the load to be transported through the narrow harbor entrance of Shuiaba Port on the Persian Gulf

In March 2013, JTC associated itself with the prestigious Jamal Abdul Nasser Road Development Project (also known as RA 167) when it entered into a 4-year agreement for the Transportation of Precast concrete bridge segments of different sizes and weights with the Project’s Main Contractor; a Joint Venture (JV) between four companies namely; Rizzani De Eccher SPA- Italy, Obrascon Huarte Lain, SA – Spain, TREVI SPA- Italy, Boodai Construction- Kuwait.

The Jamal Abdul Nasser Project is one of the major infrastructure and road development projects taking place in the State of Kuwait and is part of the Ministry of Public Works strategic plans to improve roads and motorways in the State of Kuwait. The Project will transform and upgrade the existing street into a motorway that adheres to international standards and will be standing for the next 100 years to accommodate 50 years of future traffic flow by providing a series of complex bridges and elevated highways along the length of the project and at intersections. The upgrade will provide easier access to universities, hospitals and other government buildings along Jamal Abdul Nasser Street.
